Welcome to the Conference
It is my pleasure to introduce some of the thinking and detail behind the 20th Conference.
The Conference will run over four days (13th - 16th November inclusive) and will cater for registrants with widely different interests. It will combine what I believe will be a very interesting set of scientific papers in two parallel sessions with a range of general interest presentations in a third parallel session.
There will be no less than 8 plenary speakers, from around the world and regionally, to highlight various key aspects of modern orchid growing, breeding and science. There will also be a number of special and general interest symposia.
There will be a mix of invited and submitted papers in the programme, together with posters. A Conference Review Sub-Committee has been evaluating the submitted abstracts, and their names are given below together with the names of the Conference Programme Sub-Committee. Authors who have submitted abstracts will be informed shortly if they have been successful.
Abstracts for posters may still be submitted through this website, or you can write to the secretariat for guidance or with questions. Abstracts for papers are now closed.
An outline programme is also given below. As speakers are confirmed and the details are filled in, this outline will be fleshed out, and by Dec 2010 I hope a final programme will have taken shape.
On behalf of the Conference Organising Sub-Committee I would like to extend a very warm invitation to you to join us at this event, which I am certain will be a memorable and exciting one.
