Outline of Application Process
The high standard of judging at the World Orchid Conference means that we can only allow suitably qualified Judges and Stewards, with sufficient knowledge and experience of orchid judging, to judge at the 20th World Orchid Conference.
In arranging the orchid judging for the 20th World Orchid Conference, the Judging Committee will apply the following:
- All Judges and Stewards must be full registrants to the 20th World Orchid Conference
- Companion registrants and one day registrants cannot be judges
- All Judges must be active participants in a recognised judging system which issues some sort of accreditation
- Student or trainee judges who are working towards a judging qualification in such recognised judging systems may apply to be accepted as Stewards
- Prospective Judges and Stewards will be required to submit an application in writing, setting out their credentials, to judge at 20th World Orchid Conference
- Applications will be reviewed by the Judging Committee before acceptance. No Judges or Stewards will be allowed to judge without prior approval by the Judging Committee
- All applications must be received by the deadline (to be advised), which will be adhered to strictly. No applications will be accepted after the deadline
- For the avoidance of doubt, this means that anyone who simply turns up on the day should not be expected to be allowed to judge or steward
- There will be no honorary appointments of Judges or Stewards
