About the Photography Competition

The Photography Competition is co-organised by the Photographic Society of Singapore, which is internationally recognised as the national photographic body in Singapore and has just celebrated its 60th anniversary.

The competition's theme is "Enchanting Orchids". It features three categories, Orchid Portraits (orchid flowers against a void background), Orchids in situ (orchid flowers against a natural background, native or tropical orchids in habitat, naturalised orchids, and orchids in displays or nurseries), and Orchid Fantasy (extreme close-ups, abstractions, composites, all digital manipulation).

Prizes are 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Ribbons. Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals may also be awarded to especially meritorious entries at the discretion of judges. The Trophy for Best Photograph will be awarded to the entry adjudged to be the best photograph for the contest.
