Website Competition
We are pleased to announce that a Website Competition will be held as part of the 20th World Orchid Conference, Singapore (13-20 November 2011).
The 20th World Orchid Conference Website Competition seeks to encourage the development and maintenance of good quality orchid websites, as well as building awareness of orchids.
An orchid website competition was first held at the 18th World Orchid Conference in Dijon, France, and we are delighted to be able to continue this tradition at this year’s WOC.
Winners of the Website Competition will be awarded attractive prizes, including 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize ribbons and the Trophy for Best Website. Each winner will also be provided with an official graphic badge which they can place on their website to indicate that they have won at the 20th World Orchid Conference Website Competition.
A link to each winning website will be displayed for a period of time on the World Orchid Conference Trust website. The prestige of being hyperlinked to the World Orchid Conference Trust website will likely boost traffic and internet presence of winning websites.
The deadline for entries was closed on 31 August 2011. Applications received after this date will not be accepted.
Participating websites should be devoted to orchids and at least one representative of the website must be a Full Registrant of the 20th WOC. Competition entries will be judged in three classes (Individual and Amateur, Institution and Society and Commercial). Judging will take place on 14 November 2011 at the 20th World Orchid Conference.
